Dominick Andrew DeGangi, who recorded here under the name DeGangi, was a U.S. trumpet player. The musicians DeGangi has blown his trumpet for reads like a Who's Who of American music. He's been conducted by legends such as Aaron Copeland and Tommy Dorsey, he's taken musical cues from Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jackie Gleason, he's played with big bands, ballets, and on Broadway, and with acclaimed symphony orchestras. DeGangi was the Principal Trumpet with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra from 1952 to 1958 and from 1962 to 1969. From 1958 to 1960 he was 3rd trumpet with the Cleveland Orchestra. He served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII, where he met his wife. Later in life he was an accomplished trumpet teacher while still performing till his death. This rare single, the song Dear Heart, was released in 1955 and is in Very Good Plus condition.
