LaVern Baker was an American R&B singer who had several hit records on the pop charts in the 1950s and early 1960s. Baker was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. The Hall remarked that her "fiery fusion of blues, jazz and R&B showcased her alluring vocals and set the stage for the rock and roll surge of the Fifties." Saved is a gospel and R&B-flavored song written by Leiber and Stoller. The "tongue-in-cheek" song is written from the perspective of someone who has lived a fast, loose life but is now exclaiming that they are "saved." It rose to number 17 on the R&B chart, and reached number 37 on the pop chart. This single is in Good Plus condition, with wear to labels. The single comes in an Atlantic Records company sleeve.
