The Devastating Affair was a soul quintet who had two albums scheduled for release, but never saw either come to fruition. One was planned on MoWest in early/mid 1972, tentatively entitled Devastating Affair Mountain. A a second album, titled The Devastating Affair on Motown in September/October 1973was also cancelled. They ended up releasing a total of three singles, of which this song, You Don't Know (How Hard It Is To Make It), is their last, released in 1974. This single is in Very Good Plus condition.
