The Ebonys were a vocal soul quartet formed in 1968 in Camden, New Jersey. They were discovered by Ray Sharp, who cut three sides at Sigma Studios in 1968 with the young group, which were then released on the Avis Records label in 1969. They were famous for big, gripping, dramatic soul ballads and their The Dells-styled approach of baritone lead with answering falsetto second lead. You're The Reason Why, one of their two hits, was released in 1971. This promo single is in Very Good Plus condition.
