Webley Edwards was an American radio show host influential in popularity of Hawaiian music. Edwards relocated to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1928. He developed a keen interest in Native Hawaiian musical traditions and in 1935 became the producer of the show Hawaii Calls. He was most famous for his live performance broadcasts from Hawaii. These started in the mid 1930s, but had their highest popularity in the 1950s and 1960s. From 1937 on he was assisted by Al Kealoha Perry, who primarily functioned as his musical director.
Edwards' popularity was evident in that he served in the Hawaiian Territorial & State Legislature from 1952-1966 and as a Hawaiian State Senator from 1966–1968. This album was released sometime in the early 1960s. Both the record and its sleeve are in Very Good Plus condition.
